Dangerous Driving Charges in Garbutt, QLD

Police have charged a man following a serious crash in Garbutt last week.

Around 1.10pm on 28 September, emergency services were called to Baywater Road following reports a pedestrian had been struck by a black Nissan Navara.

It is alleged the driver of the vehicle, a 37-year-old Deeragun man, then fled the scene.

The pedestrian, a 35-year-old Vincent man, was transported to Townsville University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Following investigations, Townsville police arrested the 37-year-old driver on October 2.

He was charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm, dangerous operation of a vehicle, and driving of a motor vehicle without a licence.

The man is due to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court on 20 October.
