Danny Frawley condolence statement by Mayor Dick Gross

On behalf of the City of Port Phillip, I offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of St Kilda legend Danny Frawley.

Our thoughts are especially with his wife Anita and their daughters, Chelsea, Keeley and Danielle.

Player, coach, commentator, men’s health advocate and jovial prankster, Danny did it all.

The flood of heartfelt tributes by fans and colleagues show how respected and loved Danny was for this strong leadership, on and off the field. A champion of the St Kilda Football Club, his competitive and uncompromising nature on the field saw him captain St Kilda for 177 games.

Danny will also be remembered for his openness about his battle with depression, and advocacy for men’s mental health. These efforts paved the way for many men to have important conversations with their loved ones and is a fitting legacy for this son of St Kilda.
