Deerubbin dogsThe Deerubbin Park Upgrades have been funded using Council’s Capital Funding as detailed in the Hawkesbury City Council Operational Plan 2021/22.

The delivery of these upgrades was affected by two major flood events in 2021 and 2022. The flood event of March ’21 caused extensive erosion damage to the access road adjacent to the Northern Boundary. As a result, the works needed to be completed in two stages, with the total combined project cost being around $1.3 million.

“The Deerubbin Park upgrades include new parking areas, a walking track, a dog off-leash area, lighting and landscaping,” Mayor McMahon said.

“I hope everyone enjoys this new open space – it is a great place to meet, get active and enjoy being outdoors by our beautiful river.”

A further $31,000 has also been spent on installing additional bollards to deter vehicle access onto the playing field, using Council’s Park Improvements Capital Funding.
