Driver caught speeding at scene of fatal crash at Daveyston

A driver has been caught speeding at the same location as a fatal crash at Daveyston earlier this month.

At 7am on Friday 11 September, police in an unmarked vehicle were travelling on the Sturt Highway when they were overtaken by a Toyota Corolla travelling at 160km/h in a 110km/h speed zone.

The 25-year-old Brahma Lodge man was stopped and his excuse that his flatmate was locked outside failed to prevent him from being issued with an instant six-month loss of licence, having his vehicle impounded for 28 days and being reported for excessive speed.

Police remind all road users there is no excuse for speeding and road safety remains the responsibility of all motorists.
