The Tasmanian Government has doubled support available to organisations helping Tasmanians get active in their community, with $4.8 million available through the latest Active Industry Fund round.
Minister for Sport, Nick Duigan, said the program is about strengthening peak bodies to ensure they better support their clubs and associations to deliver coordinated sport and active recreation activities across our State.
“This program is also about helping more Tasmanians to participate and stay active,” Minister Duigan said.
“Our peak organisations play a critical role in ensuring Tasmanians have access to safe, fun and inclusive sport and active recreation.”
The program also focuses on increasing participation and retention initiatives, particularly for women and girls, in line with the Tasmanian Women and Girls Sport Strategy.
“Our Government is supporting coaches and officials and improving organisational governance and integrity,” Minister Duigan said.
“Grants from $80,000 to $240,000 will be available to peak organisations representing our State’s sporting and active recreation clubs and associations.
“As part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future we are ensuring Tasmanians have access to community sport and recreation. That is at the heart of what these grants deliver.”
The program is open to state sporting organisations, state disability sporting Organisations, State Active Recreation Providers, State Sector Service Providers and some National Sporting Organisations.
The Active Industry Fund closes on 14 October 2026.
