Dementia Action Week starts Monday 16 September ‘Act Now for a Dementia-Friendly Future’

Dementia Australia

WHAT: Dementia Action Week 2024 is from Monday 16 September to Sunday 22 September, which includes World Alzheimer’s Day on Saturday 21 September.

THEME: This year’s theme is ‘Act Now for a Dementia-Friendly Future’. A lack of knowledge and understanding of dementia may lead to people living with dementia experiencing stigma and discrimination in the community. But it doesn’t have to.

CALL TO ACTION: Head to dementia.org.au/DementiaActionWeek to find out how you can join us to create a future where all people impacted by dementia are supported and welcomed in their communities, no matter where they live. The webpage includes information, toolkits and resources anyone in the community can use to plan their own Dementia Action Week activity.

SPOKESPEOPLE: Interviews are available with Dementia Australia representatives, Dementia Advocates, who are people with a living experience of dementia, and Dementia Australia Honorary Medical Advisors. Images and case study video footage are also available on request.
