At yesterday’s Council meeting, Councillors accepted a leave of absence request from Cr Jade Benham and an Acting Mayor was appointed.
Deputy Mayor, Cr Bill Moar will step in as the Acting Mayor of Swan Hill Rural City Council, until the next mayoral election, to be held in November.
Cr Moar has previously served as Mayor for two terms and was elected to Council in 2016.
Cr Moar is passionate about the region and recognises the importance of smaller communities throughout the municipality.
“Together with Council, I look forward to moving ahead with the many exciting projects, while also ensuring Council’s core business of providing services and facilities to our community continues,” Cr Moar said.
