Detectives investigate firearms burglary in North Melbourne

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives are seeking assistance after a number of firearms were stolen in North Melbourne last month.

Investigators have been told a man entered a property in Peel Street on Sunday 4 October about 6.20am.

The offender stole a firearms safe containing five rifles, along with power tools.

The offender is perceived as being Middle Eastern, aged between 35 to 40 years-old, with a dark coloured beard, solid build, about 175 to 180cms tall and was driving a late model silver Mitsubishi Pajero.

The registration plates of the vehicle had been covered.

Investigators have released images of a man and a vehicle which they believe may assist them with their enquiries.
