Criminal Groups Squad detectives have released CCTV as part of an appeal into information about the murder of Marvin Oraiha last year.
About 4pm on Monday 22 May 2023, emergency services were called to Hertfordshire Street in Elizabeth Hills, following reports of a shooting.
On arrival, officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command located a 24-year-old man suffering several gunshot wounds.
Despite the efforts of police and NSW Ambulance paramedics, the man died at the scene.
He has since been identified as Marvin Oraiha.
A short time later, emergency services were called to Cave Close in Green Valley and Lewis Street in Bonnyrigg Heights following reports of two car fires.
Subsequently, crime scenes were established and forensically examined at all three locations.
Liverpool detectives – with assistance from the Homicide Squad – commenced inquiries before State Crime Command’s Criminal Groups Squad and Task Force Magnus took carriage of the investigation under Strike Force Hackenburg.
To date, seven people have been charged and remain before the courts.
As part of further inquiries, detectives have released CCTV of some additional men they are hoping to speak to.
The CCTV shows Marvin Oraiha at Westfield in Pitt Street, Sydney, about 1.10pm on Monday 22 May 2024, seemingly being watched by two males who are texting on their mobile phones.
At 3pm, the CCTV shows an unknown offender, dressed in a black Under Armour hooded jumper, park his black Mercedes on Boomerang Road in Edensor Park before retrieving a bag from a dark coloured Toyota Kluger and returning to his car.
By 3.35pm the Mercedes meets a white Audi on Eber Avenue in Elizabeth Hills – a short distance away from Marvin Oraiha’s house. Two men travelling in the Mercedes, one carrying the backpack, get into the Audi.
The Audi allegedly continues onto Hertfordshire Street to wait for Mr Oraiha, while the Mercedes returns to Edensor Park.
After the shooting, the offenders are again caught on CCTV running from a black Prado towards a blue Honda Accord on Lewis Street in Bonnyrigg Heights.
It’s alleged one of the offenders is still carrying a firearm and pointing it at civilians at this time.
