Devonport Man Charged With Spate Of Stealing Matters

Police have charged a 45-year-old man from Devonport in relation to a spate of stealing matters in recent weeks.

Police will allege the man has stolen property to an approximate value of $13,000 from various businesses over the past few weeks, and he provided false details to investigators.

The man was scheduled to appear before the Devonport Magistrates Court at 2.15pm today charged with:

  • x11 Stealing
  • x5 Contravene conditions of a notice
  • x1 Evade police
  • x1 Fail to wear approved bicycle helmet
  • x1 Unlawful possession of property
  • x1 Pervert Justice
  • x1 Supplying a controlled plant or its products.

“Police remain committed to detecting and arresting criminals in our community, particularly repeat offenders,” said Senior Sergeant James Scicluna.

“Information from the public plays an important part in police investigations and I would like to thank the people who came forward and provided information which assisted in the arrest of this man.”

“The police investigation is ongoing to recover further stolen property – including a child’s new mountain bike – if you have any information that would assist please come forward.”
