Shortly after 8:00pm on Tuesday 21 November 2023 police were called to a disturbance in Hargrave Crescent, Mayfield. A male received serious internal injuries during an assault. The male was transported to Launceston General Hospital by Ambulance Tasmania and treated for serious injuries.
Later that day a 31year old male from Mayfield was arrested and has subsequently been charged with causing grievous bodily harm, possess dangerous article and minor drug offences.
Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed an altercation between two males in the Hargrave Crescent, Mayfield area on the 21 November 2023. Anyone witnessing any such incident are asked to call police on 131 444 or Crimestoppers 1800 333 000.
