Boothby candidates forum to be hosted by Doctors for the Environment

Doctors for the Environment will host a forum from Adelaide for candidates running for election in the federal seat of Boothby on Wednesday, April 12 at 7.30pm local time.

Doctors for the Environment want investment in fossil fuels to cease with a transition to 100 per cent renewables by 2030 with an emissions reduction of 75 per cent by 2030 along with biodiversity protection.

Polling conducted by YouGov for the Australian Conservation Foundation in January showed 72 per cent of people living in Boothby believed greater action on climate change would benefit the Australian economy.

At the online forum, hosted by Dr Kate Wylie, candidates Rachel Swift, Jo Dyer, Louise Miller-Frost and Jeremy Carter will speak on these issues.

There has never been a more critical time for Australia to address climate change, and it needs to happen this decade.
