Double Success For Amcor At UK Packaging Awards 2026

ZURICH, October 8, 2026 – Amcor (NYSE: AMCR, ASX: AMC), a global leader in developing and producing responsible packaging solutions, has been named UK Packaging Company of the Year at the UK Packaging Awards 2026.

In addition, further reinforcing the company’s standing in the industry, Mike Baxter, UK director of government affairs and recycling for Amcor, was celebrated for his Outstanding Contribution to the Packaging Industry.

The awards recognize Amcor’s strong performance over the past year, continued investment in innovation, sustainability leadership and the scale of its support for customers across the packaging value chain. The judges noted particularly the business’ strategic transformation following the combination with Berry Global, which brought together two highly complementary businesses to create one of the industry’s most comprehensive multi-format portfolios of primary packaging solutions.

Amcor now brings together 75,000 colleagues across more than 400 locations worldwide, enabling it to support leading global customers with consistency, reach and resilience. Its portfolio is balanced across attractive end markets, with approximately 60% of global sales in nutrition, around 25% in health, beauty and wellness and around 15% in specialty applications.

Innovation remains central to Amcor’s strategy. The company invests approximately $180 million annually in research and development, supported by more than 1,500 R&D professionals. Following the addition of five new global Innovation Centers through the combination with Berry, Amcor now operates a network of 10 Innovation Centers worldwide, accelerating the development and commercialization of next-generation packaging solutions.

Meanwhile, Mike Baxter received Outstanding Contribution to the Packaging Industry, an award chosen by the judges. Barry Twigg, chief executive at Packaging Flexible, introduced Mike as follows: “In many ways, he embodies the history of modern packaging. He knows more about the industry than almost anyone alive. He understands the business, the people, the politics – and crucially how they all fit together.”

Mike said: “It’s an enormous honour for me personally, and even more impressive to be recognized on the same night that Amcor was named UK Packaging Company of the Year. This is a proud moment for Amcor and reflects the commitment of our teams, customers and partners. Over the past year we have strengthened our business, expanded our portfolio and continued to invest in innovation that helps customers meet changing consumer, regulatory and sustainability expectations.

“We’re delighted to be recognised for the breadth of what Amcor brings to the packaging sector: global scale, deep technical expertise, strong customer partnerships and a clear commitment to developing responsible packaging solutions that support a more circular future.”
