Drug and weapon charges at Gold Coast

Officers from the Gold Coast Major and Organised Crime Squad and Rapid Action Patrols (RAP) have charged two men with drug offences following the execution of search warrants on the Gold Coast yesterday.

During the search of a business at Gateway Drive, Coomera, police located and seized cocaine, methamphetamine, MDMA powder and Diazepam and a replica Beretta semi-automatic pistol and magazine.

At a search of a residence at Pinehill Drive Oxenford, police located and seized methylamphetamines, ammunition, a baton and drug paraphernalia.

As a result of the search warrants, police arrested a 44-year-old man for five charges of possessing dangerous drugs.

A 50-year-old Oxenford man was charged with possessing dangerous drugs and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Both men are due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on July 20.
