Drug Charges At Wujal Wujal

Cooktown police have charged two men with drug offences following a search warrant in Wujal Wujal on Friday, 12 June.

It will be alleged officers attended a Bloodwood Road property and located 575 cannabis plants, and more than 10kg of dried cannabis.

A 63-year-old Bloomfield man was charged with one count each of possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 2 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3, producing dangerous drugs Schedule 2 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3, and possessing anything used in the commission of crime defined in part 2.

A 38-year-old Bloomfield man was charged with one count each of possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 2 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3, producing dangerous drugs Schedule 2 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3, and possessing anything used in the commission of crime defined in part 2, possess utensils or pipes, and offence to buy or possess S4 or S8 medicines.

Both were issued a notice to appear in the Cooktown Magistrates Court on 15 July.
