Drug operation closure at Sunshine Coast 28 September

Detectives from the Sunshine Coast District and the Drug and Serious Crime Group, Crime and Intelligence Command have closed an operation targeting the trafficking of dangerous drugs, resulting in the arrest of seven people on 17 charges.

Operation Romeo Reverent commenced in September 2019 to target the trafficking of drugs including cocaine, ice and cannabis on the Sunshine Coast.

On Monday (July 27) multiple search warrants were executed at Sunshine Coast locations including at Meridan Plains and Landsborough.

During the searches, police located and seized one kilogram of cannabis and $9000 cash.

A 52-year-old Caloundra man was charged with 12 offences including nine counts of supply dangerous drugs (cannabis, cocaine) and one count each of trafficking dangerous drugs, possess property suspected as proceeds (cash) and possess weapon (baton).

He is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court today.
