Drugs and firearms arrest Gold Coast

Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch detectives have charged a 29-year-old man after a large quantity of drugs and a handgun were allegedly discovered in a house at Carrara yesterday afternoon.

Around 4.40pm yesterday police executed a search warrant on a Fitzwilliam Street house where it is alleged three handguns, ammunition, methamphetamines and steroids were located.

A 29-year-old man from Grafton in New South Wales has been charged with two counts of possess a dangerous drug and one count each of unlawful possession of weapons Category D/H/R weapon, authority required to possess explosives, possess tainted property, driving of motor vehicle without a driver licence SPER Susp (Qld Lic) and possess utensils or pipes etc that had been used.

The man faced Southport Magistrates Court today and has been remanded in custody to reappear on May 12, 2020.
