Detectives from the Drug and Serious Crime Group have charged two men after a commercial scale clandestine drug lab was located in South East Queensland.
A joint investigation by the State Drug Squad and Crime and Corruption Commission, culminated in the execution of a search warrant at a Shailer Park residence yesterday.
During the search police will allege they located an illicit drug laboratory and equipment suspected of being used to produce methylamphetamine, large amounts of methylamphetamine oil, methylamphetamine shards, precursor chemicals and approximately 2.2 kilograms of heroin.
It will be alleged that the lab had been in operation for several months and had the capacity to produce multiple kilogram batches of methylamphetamine.
Specialist officers from the Illicit Laboratory Investigation Team (ILIT) attended the location to safely process the site.
The two men, aged 50 and 40, have been charged with one count each of trafficking dangerous drug (methylamphetamine), producing dangerous drug (methylamphetamine), possessing dangerous drug (methylamphetamine) and possessing dangerous drug (heroin).
They are expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
Investigations are ongoing.
