The Dungog Library Upgrade project is now moving into the final stages of the planning process in line with the latest design endorsed by Council at the October 2021 meeting. The design works are being undertaken by Herd Architects who have identified the following advantages of the latest draft design:-
• Reduces costs by maximising planning efficiency;
• Meets the planning requirements of the grant and Library staff;
• Service areas of the Library are clearly differentiated from the reading, study and social areas of the Library;
• Allows flexible use of the toilets and kitchen for the Library as well as after-hours usage of the meeting room;
• Allows for any future additions to be more easily accommodated;
• Allows for the possibility for a future deck area to be constructed in the rear section at the middle of the Library with stair access.
