Two men have been arrested after a stolen Range Rover was recovered in Murray Bridge.
Police spotted the stolen SUV on Marchand Street, Murray Bridge, about 2pm on Tuesday 15 September. Officers followed the vehicle to a nearby shopping centre car park where it came to a stop and both occupants fled on foot.
Police gave chase and arrested the driver, a 28-year-old Murray Bridge man, who was charged with theft of a motor vehicle. He was bailed to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court on 26 October.
His passenger, a 36-year-old Murray Bridge man, was also arrested on an outstanding warrant. It will be alleged he kicked a police officer during the arrest. He was subsequently charged with assaulting a prescribed emergency worker (police officer), disorderly behaviour and resisting arrest. He was refused police bail and will appear in court on Wednesday 16 September.
The officer was not injured.
