Easy DIY treats and toys to make for pets during isolation

If you’re currently social distancing or self-isolating with your pet due to COVID-19, you may find that you’re not able to keep your pet as entertained as you normally would.

It’s also possible your pet is starting to experience cabin fever – itching to run around and exert energy that you’re simply unable to reciprocate (busy working from home, anyone?) This can cause our pets to learn unwelcome destructive habits that will make no one happy.

So, here we’re sharing a few of our favourite do-it-yourselfs that you can do to not only keep you occupied, but also your furry loved ones!

DIYs for dogs

Our canine friends can be entertained for hours on end if you give them something interesting to play with! If you find your pup avoiding old toys that they’re used to playing with, it’s time to get creative and make your own.

For inspo, check out our list of dog toys you can make all from the comfort of your own home. From toilet roll puzzles to empty bottle riddles, this guide is designed for people who need to make do with what’s already at home.

If you’re also needing to ration during these unprecedented times, we don’t want you to stress over what to feed your dog.

Here are our best tips for how to feed your dog nutritious meals for less.

CIYs for cats

We know what you’re thinking – and before you ask, a CIY is a ‘Create it Yourself’, especially tailored towards cats. Duh.

Our feline friends obviously love their lazy snoozes, but would you believe that a lot of the time they’re actually looking to play? If you’re running out of ideas on how to entertain your cats during isolation, we have multiple solutions.

If egg carton puzzles aren’t your cat’s thing, then you’ll be sure to find something sure to entertain in our list of easy-t0-make cat toys.

We’re not sure about you, but when we’re isolating we become more peckish than normal – and we’re almost 100% certain that your cats will feel the same way.

If your feline won’t indulge in your lovingly made cat toys, then it’s time to venture into treat making territory (you can thank us later).

From our canine and feline friends to yours, enjoy.
