It’s with a heavy heart we confirm a 74 year old male who tested positive for COVID-19 has died early this morning.
The man was a patient at the North West Regional Hospital and was being cared for at the Mersey Community Hospital.
This brings our total deaths from coronavirus in the state to eight.
On behalf of the Tasmanian Government I extended my deepest sympathies to the man’s family, friends and loved ones.
We must continue to maintain the stringent approach to stopping the spread of this virus both in the North West and across Tasmania.
