Election commitment follows Kilmore secondary school forum

Mitchell Shire Council has welcomed an election commitment for a public secondary school in Kilmore made at a community forum on Tuesday 15 September.

About 30 community members attended the forum in Kilmore, hosted by community group Public High School for Kilmore.

Shadow Minister for Education Brad Rowswell MP and Member for Euroa Annabelle Cleeland MP announced that a Coalition government would deliver a public secondary school in Kilmore if it wins the 2026 Victorian State Election.

One Nation Member for Northern Victoria Rikki-Lee Tyrrell MP expressed her support for the school.

Council will continue to call on all parties and candidates contesting the election to commit to purchasing land, designing and constructing a public secondary school in Kilmore.

Mitchell Shire Mayor John Dougall said the forum demonstrated the strength of community support for the school.
