Eleven Swinburne researchers are ranked in the top 200 scientists in the field of computer science and electronics by Guide2Research.

Researchers earn their ranking by showing leadership and excellence computer science and electronics. Their position is based on their h-index value from Google Scholar, which looks to measure both productivity and impact.
This year, Swinburne increased its total h-index from 443 in 2020 to 617. That’s the third highest ranking for a university in Victoria, and the seventh highest in Australia.

The researchers’ areas of interest include autonomous control systems, cloud computing, data science, mathematics, cybersecurity and software analysis.
Distinguished Professor Qing-Long Han is Swinburne’s Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Quality) and a Fellow of The Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). As well as being fifth in Australia, Professor Han has risen to 258th in the world, up from 320 in the 2020 rankings.
