Police are investigating a fatal fire in Sydney’s west.
About 2.45pm today (Thursday 28 May 2020), emergency services were called to Lethbridge Street at Penrith following reports of a fire on the balcony of a unit complex.
Officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command, Fire and Rescue NSW and NSW Ambulance paramedics attended.
After the fire was extinguished, the body of a man was located on the balcony. He is yet to be formally identified.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fire is underway.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
