Employee injured during service station robbery at Doonside, NSW

An investigation is underway after a service station attendant was injured during a robbery in Doonside yesterday.

Shortly after 9pm (Monday 8 June 2020), a rock was thrown through the window of a service station on Hill End Road, shattering the glass.

A man, described as being Pacific Islander/Maori in appearance, aged between 25-30 years, with a medium build and wearing a black t-shirt with grey and black track pants, entered through the window and approached the attendant.

He punched the employee and pushed him to the ground where the shattered glass had fallen, before stealing cigarettes and fleeing.

The 26-year-old employee suffered a large cut to his head and was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Blacktown Hospital for further treatment.

A crime scene was established, and officers from Blacktown Police Area Command are conducting inquiries.
