AgForce members are encouraged to engage with the Queensland Productivity Commission’s (QPC) inquiry into the impacts of the 2025 Commonwealth EPBC reforms.
Following extensive advocacy by AgForce over the past six months, the QPC inquiry provides an important opportunity for producers to directly inform Government about the practical impacts these reforms may have on farming businesses, property rights, vegetation management, water infrastructure, compliance requirements and the future productivity of Queensland agriculture. An impact analysis was not done by the federal government as part of the EPBC Reforms, however the Queensland government have commissioned this to understand the implications of this reform on Queensland.
The inquiry will be undertaken in two stages, with the current round of regional consultations and submissions informing an interim report, followed by a second phase of consultation later in 2026 to support the Commission’s final report.
AgForce has invested significant time and resources ensuring the impacts of these reforms are understood by Ministers, government departments, parliamentary inquiries and regulators. However, there is no substitute for Government hearing directly from producers and regional communities.
