Enhancing Errington Reserve with upgrades and new additions

Council has proudly completed a number of projects at Errington Reserve, enabling more families and community groups to enjoy the facilities offered at the sports precinct.

The oval has been reconstructed with new lighting installed and the reserve is now home to brand new multi-sport courts, which allows soccer, basketball, netball and volleyball to be played.

The new floodlights can be controlled remotely, allowing Council to trial scheduling the lights on after sundown for extended use of the community facilities. They also use energy efficient LEDs, which significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, energy usage and costs.

Council has invested a total of $2m into these projects, with $500,000 received from State Government.

The last instalment in the design plan is a skate park area, which includes a skate plaza, two central lawn areas, interactive art, shelters and various seating options. This final piece of the reserve development is expected to be completed to the north-east of the site by June 2022.

These upgrades are in addition to the new Community Sports Pavilion, along with four new tennis courts, totalling $7.1m, which was completed in September 2020.

You can find Errington Reserve on Main Road East, St Albans.
