Entries open for Monash Youth Film Festival 2019

The Monash Youth Film Festival is back and the call is out for budding directors to submit their own short film.

The 2019 Film Festival hosted by Monash Youth Services and Quiksound Productions is open to young people aged 12-25 who live, work, play or study in the City of Monash.

Entries chosen for the festival will be shown at Village Cinemas Century City in Glen Waverley on 11 September 2019.

Mayor Shane McCluskey said the Monash Youth Film Festival was a chance for young people in Monash to showcase their talents and express their view of the world through film.

“We’re fortunate to have such a diverse community in Monash and I’m looking forward to seeing the short films that come from our fantastic young people,” Cr McCluskey said.

“This event is one of the many ways our dedicated Monash Youth Services and Quiksound team provide services and opportunities to our young people.

“It provides a real opportunity for our youth to express their creativity and support the work of their peers too.”

This popular festival attracts more than 20 film entries annually.

Applications close 11 August 2019. All genres are welcome.
