EPA Board names Interim CEO

The Governing Board of Environment Protection Authority Victoria today announced the appointment of Lee Miezis as the Authority’s interim Chief Executive Officer.

The current and inaugural Chief Executive Officer of Bushfire Recovery Victoria, Mr Miezis has extensive experience in policy, operations, service delivery and regulation.

As a former Deputy Secretary at the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP), Mr Miezis has hands on experience across the energy, waste, environment and climate change, water and catchments sectors.

Mr Miezis holds a bachelor’s degree in Forest Science (with Honours), a Master of Business Administration and is a Victorian Fellow of the Institute of Public Administration Australia.

The EPA Governing Board is confident Mr Miezis’ experience and leadership brings invaluable assistance to an executive team striving to deliver the biggest transformation in EPA’s history while meeting the day-to-day challenges of enforcing environment protection regulation across Victoria.

Mr Miezis will join EPA on 8 February 2021.
