Evade Charges – Midland To Kingsley

Cannington Detectives have charged a man following an evade incident that occurred across Perth’s eastern and northern suburbs on Thursday, 17 September 2026.

About 10.10am, police observed a white Subaru sedan being driven erratically on Great Eastern Highway in Midland. Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens and directed the driver to stop; however, it will be alleged the driver accelerated away from police and became involved in an evade incident.

Police further allege the driver travelled at high speed through a number of suburbs, failed to stop at multiple red traffic signals and repeatedly drove on the incorrect side of the road, placing other road users and pedestrians at risk.

During the incident, it will also be alleged the vehicle collided with two civilian vehicles and an unmarked police vehicle before continuing without stopping. No serious injuries were reported.

The vehicle was monitored by officers on board a Police Air Wing aircraft as it travelled through Malaga, Alexander Heights, Landsdale, Gnangara and Marangaroo before being abandoned on Hepburn Avenue in Kingsley. Police will allege the driver and several occupants inside the Subaru fled on foot.

With assistance from the Police Air Wing, officers located the driver a short distance away, where he was taken into custody without further incident.
