Exciting Tourism Opportunity at Window on Wetlands

Department of Tourism, Sport and Culture

The NT Government is inviting expressions of interest from private entities, joint ventures or other interested parties to take over commercial operation of the popular Window on the Wetlands Visitor Centre (WOW).

Located on the Arnhem Highway, WOW receives more than 50,000 visitors each year and is a welcome stop for people travelling to and from the World Heritage Listed Kakadu National Park, Mary River National Park, Djukbinj National Park and Arnhem Land.

WOW is located minutes away from the iconic jumping crocodile tours, and is on the way to the famous barra fishing grounds of Corroboree and Shady Camp.

WOW is a unique building perched high on Ludawei (Beatrice Hill). It is architecturally designed to represent the form of the dancing brolga.

Opportunities for a commercial operator include developing new tourism, ecotourism, cultural or conservation experiences, and offering food and beverage services.

There is also the opportunity to provide employment and training opportunities, including for local Aboriginal people.

WOW is fully equipped with parking, toilets and disabled access. A new air-conditioning system has recently been installed.
