Exhibition openings called off, Gallery to stay open

The Gallery is complying with the recommendations of national and state health authorities about managing the COVID-19 crisis.

Orange Regional Gallery had a number of events coming up over the next 2 weeks. These events were likely to attract between 50 and 150 people. We also have school programs coming up that we are about to advertise for April.

In light of recent changes to health recommendations, and in consultation with the Friends of the Gallery and the presenters of these events, Orange Regional Gallery will be temporarily suspending these events which we will try to reschedule if possible.

Art works hanging in the gallery

This means that gatherings such as our opening event for Small Abstracts: from the Collection of David and Gillian Serisier on Friday 19 March, as well as our Evening with the Collection event on Thursday March 26 will not go ahead.

We will however remain open to the general public every day from 10am to 4pm.

The Gallery continues to be a safe and welcoming space in which you can still enjoy our three current exhibitions until 3 May :

  • Small Abstracts from the Collection of David and Gillian Serisier
  • Collection Highlights
  • Salvatore Zofrea: Days of Summer

It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure the places our community gathers are healthy and safe. It is even more important than ever that you choose not to come to the gallery if you are experiencing cold or flu like symptoms.

It’s also important to maintain an increased level of hygiene (handwashing, covering coughs/sneezes). Gallery staff are also placing an increased emphasis on hygiene, including extra disinfection of surfaces.

This is a situation where there will be ongoing developments and questions. The gallery is committed to keeping its community informed with up to date information and answering queries about major developments as they emerge, via our e-list, website and social media.

In the meantime, our team continue to work towards our exciting gallery extension and future exhibitions and programs and we look forward to seeing you at Orange Regional Gallery.
