- Onslow Education Collaboration continues to deliver academic, wellbeing and career pathway programs for Onslow School students until 2025

Onslow School, in the Pilbara Region, will receive additional support with childhood learning, student wellbeing and career pathways through a renewed three-year partnership between the Western Australian Department of Education and Chevron Australia.
The Onslow Education Collaboration follows the success of a pilot program launched in 2020 to connect Onslow School with Chevron’s other community partners to provide outreach services.
The partnership will deliver an additional $1.1million in funding to continue the initiative, extending Chevron Australia’s ongoing support for programs at Onslow School since 2009.
The funding will support improved learning, and social and emotional outcomes for students with the provision of specialist staff, resources and programs at Onslow School, which caters for students from kindergarten to year 12.
This will include an education assistant to work with speech pathologists and occupational therapists from Telethon Speech and Hearing, a learning support coordinator, student support officer, and a youth engagement teacher.
As stated by Education Minister Dr Tony Buti:
“This expanded partnership is an exciting outcome for the school and the wider community of Onslow.
“The renewed three-year collaboration program will continue to build on the excellent work being undertaken to strengthen education and health outcomes at Onslow School.
“Onslow teachers have been receiving terrific support from the team at Telethon Speech & Hearing to build the language, literacy and numeracy skills of students and I’m very excited to see this continue with the support of Chevron Australia.
“I thank everyone involved in ensuring the success of this innovative program can continue.”
