Explore Bayside this Summer

Stretching along 17 kilometres, Bayside’s stunning coastline runs through the suburbs of Brighton, Hampton, Sandringham, Black Rock and Beaumaris.

Our beautiful beaches are great locations for summer relaxation and recreation, so check them out.

If your favourite sandy strip is busy on a sunny day, try somewhere new. Each is as wonderful as the others but has their own delightful characteristics.

Summer wandering

Bayside’s parks and open spaces are perfect picnic spots or ride or walk the scenic Bay Trail.

You could also take a leisurely walk through the streets, parks and suburbs via our 9 trails designed for people of all ages and levels of fitness.

Each trail provides a suggested route, estimated time and distance, information about accessibility, and locations of public services and places of interest.

Summer beachy fun

Each year during the January school holidays, Coastcare Victoria, delivered by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP), coordinates the free ‘Summer by the Sea’ activities all along the Victorian coastline.

In 2022, there will be a mixed model program including face to face, online and campaign activities.

There’s something for everyone. Check out the activities here.
