Explore Family And Property History: Bayside

Bayside Libraries are partnering with Museums of History NSW (MHNSW) to help residents explore their own histories using the NSW State Archives Collection.

These free, expert-led talks bring community members together to learn practical research skills, understand the value of local archives, and gain confidence in tracing family and house histories. Each session is presented by an Archivist from MHNSW’s Access Services Team.

The NSW State Archives Collection holds a wealth of records that can reveal new details about your ancestors. This talk highlights key record series useful for family history and shows you step-by-step how to access and use them to enrich your research. Suitable for beginners and experienced family historians.

Property records can be complex, but they offer rich insights into the story of a home, street or neighbourhood. This session explains which records to use, how to navigate them, and how to piece together a property’s history using the NSW State Archives Collection.

Each talk is limited to 30 attendees and registration is essential.
