Explosion at Camden Park, South Australia

Police are investigating an explosion at a unit at Camden Park this morning.

Police, paramedics and MFS crews were called to a block of units on Anzac Highway, Camden Park just before 5.30am on Friday 17 January by reports of a loud bang.

The male occupant of the unit had sustained serious injuries, including burns. The female occupant sustained minor injuries and burns. They were both taken by ambulance to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

On initial assessment of the scene it appears there has been some sort of explosion in the bathroom of the unit.

Other adjoining units have been evacuated as a precaution.

One lane of eastbound traffic on Anzac Highway is closed due to the presence of emergency vehicles, but two lanes remain open. Motorists are asked to take care when travelling past emergency workers and the scene.
