The Tasmanian Government is committed to the health and wellbeing of all Tasmanians, and ensuring services meet the needs of our communities now and into the future.
As part of this commitment, the Department of Health will be seeking Expressions of Interest for the future use of the James Scott Wing at the North Eastern Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Scottsdale.
Minister for Health, Mental Health and Wellbeing, Bridget Archer, said it was important that a service in this hospital wing meets the needs of the community and complements the services currently delivered from the hospital and broader region.
“The North Eastern Soldiers Memorial Hospital provides vital services to the Scottsdale community and surrounds,” Minister Archer said.
“By seeking Expressions of Interest for the future use of this wing, we can ensure an appropriate service can utilise this space, whether it be for youth services or expansion of allied health services, as examples.
“Expressions of Interest will be carefully considered to ensure the space is used for a service that meets community need but also contributes to state-wide priorities to enhance rural health services.
“Through our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, we are delivering the health infrastructure our communities need to get care when and where they need it.”
The Expression of Interest process will run from 1 August 2026 for six weeks and seek to attract services that complement existing services delivered from the hospital and align to community needs.
The Expression of Interest will be advertised on the Government Tenders Website, as well as the local press.
