Extreme speed rider arrested at Mawson Lakes, South Australia

A motorcycle rider has been arrested after he was detected travelling at extreme speed in the western suburbs overnight.

Just before 11.30pm, Tuesday 31 May, PolAir spotted the motorcycle travelling at 150km/h in a 60km/h zone on Tapleys Hill Road. PolAir followed the rider through a number of suburbs until it stopped in a car park off Waterhouse Lane, Mawson Lakes.

Patrols were directed to the location and arrested the 34-year-old rider from West Hindmarsh.

The rider has been charged with three counts of drive at extreme speed, drive disqualified, unregistered, uninsured and display false plate. He has been bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on 23 June.

His black Honda motorcycle was impounded for 28 days.
