Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision which occurred in Hoppers Crossing on Thursday evening.
Investigators have been told a SUV and pedestrian collided near the intersection of Heaths Road and Derrimut Road about 10.30pm.
Emergency services attended the scene but the yet to be formally identified male pedestrian died at the scene.
The driver of the SUV stopped at the scene and has spoken with police.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
