Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a fatal hit-run collision in Yarraville this morning.
It is understood a vehicle collided with a mobility scooter near the intersection of Francis and Ballarat streets about 11.35am.
The male rider of the mobility scooter, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle fled and remains outstanding at this stage.
Police are working to establish the circumstances of the collision.
