Fatal Pedestrian Incident At Yungaburra

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating following a fatal vehicle and pedestrian incident at Yungaburra this afternoon, October 31.

Initial information indicates at 1:15pm, a 76-year-old Yungaburra man was struck by a MG HS on the Gillies Range Road.

The man sustained life-threatening injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.

The vehicle was abandoned and the driver, a 36-year-old Yungaburra woman was located a short distance away.

Investigations are continuing, police are urging anyone with information or relevant dashcam vision to come forward.

The Gillies Range Road between Curtain Fig Tree Road and Kehoe Place is closed, motorists are urged to avoid the area.
