A 40-year-old man has died following a fatal shark bite in waters off Keppel Islands this afternoon, December 28.
The man was fishing with family members when he was bitten by a shark about 4.30pm.
The man sustained life-threatening injuries and succumbed to those injuries just before 6pm.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
