Police are investigating this morning’s fatal traffic crash on Tagigan Road, Wolvi, near Gympie.
The 59-year-old man’s Mitsubishi Challenger was found shortly after 5 am.
Early investigation suggests that the vehicle left the roadway sometime between 2.30 and 3 am and collided with a tree.
The man passed away as a result of his injuries at the scene.
The Forensic Crash Unit investigation is continuing.
