A man has died after a unit fire in Sydney’s south west this morning.
Just after 5am (Saturday 29 August 2019), emergency services were called to a unit on Biara Avenue, Clemton Park, following reports of a fire.
Fire and Rescue NSW attended and pulled an unconscious man from the smoke-filled unit before commencing CPR until the arrival of paramedics.
Despite the efforts of first responders, the man died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.
The unit sustained significant damage.
Officers from Campsie Police Area Command have established a crime scene and an investigation is underway into the cause of the fire.
