Fire fighter dies while responding to house fire – Hawkesbury PAC

A fire fighter has died while responding to a house fire in Sydney’s north-west.

About 8am today (Tuesday 12 December 2023), emergency services responded to reports of a house fire on Grose Vale Road, Grose Vale, about 10km west of Richmond.

Police have been told a 51-year-old man, who is an on-call fire fighter with Fire and Rescue NSW, collapsed at the scene.

Emergency personnel performed CPR; however, the man was unable to be revied and died at the scene.

Officers from Hawkesbury Police Area Command have established at crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.
