Fire investigation at Roma

Police have declared a crime scene at a commercial premises in Roma as they investigate a fire in an unoccupied building overnight (June 22).

Emergency services were called to the business on Northern Road at 6.40pm with officers confirming there were no people inside and no threat to any adjoining structures.

It’s believed the building has been vacant for an extended period.

Police will remain at the scene until fire investigators can arrive and work to determine the cause of the fire.

Police are appealing for any person in the area who may have CCTV footage, or who may have seen anyone near the building in the hours before the fire, to contact them.

Investigations are continuing.
