Firearm and drug charges at Jimboomba

Logan police have charged a 44-year-old Cedar Grove man with multiple drug and firearm offences.

Around 9.30pm on Saturday July 18, police observed a white Toyota Landcruiser utility vehicle parked in a service station on Cerina Circuit, Jimboomba.

After speaking with the man police searched the vehicle where they allegedly located a loaded shotgun fitted with a weapon-mounted light system, which was stored between the two front seats of the car.

Police also allegedly seized multiple rounds of ammunition, three knives, drug utensils including a glass pipe and scales, along with a quantity of drugs including cocaine, alprazolam, methylamphetamine, cannabis and meloxicam.

He has been charged with five counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count each of possession of a knife in a public place, unlawful possession of a weapon, possess explosives, possess shortened firearm, possess restricted drug, possess drug utensil and possess property suspected of having been used in a drug offence.

He is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today (July 20).
