Yarra Crime Investigation Unit detectives are searching for two men after a stolen car crashed into a building in Fitzroy North early this morning.
Melbourne Highway Patrol members were on patrol when they came across the BMW, which had smashed through the front of an office building at the corner of St Georges Road and Reid Street about 1.30am.
It’s believed there were two male occupants at the time who fled the scene on foot.
A search was conducted in the area however the men were yet to be located.
Investigators conducted a search of the vehicle, locating a firearm and ammunition.
The 2016 BMW 125I hatchback was stolen from a Footscray West address on 15 April.
