Firearm produced during home invasion at Guildford, NSW

Two women were threatened with a firearm during a home invasion in Sydney’s south-west tonight.

About 9.30pm (Wednesday 22 July 2020), a woman, aged 25, was sitting on the front veranda of her Dennistoun Street home in Guildford when she was approached by two men.

The men, both wearing face masks and dark clothing, were armed with a knife and a pistol as they grabbed the woman and took her inside.

The woman’s mother, aged 45, was inside the home and was also threatened by the men who were demanding money.

The younger woman handed the men her purse with an amount of cash and the two men ran from the premises towards Johnstone Street.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command were called and established a crime scene.

The women were treated for shock but were otherwise uninjured.
